Some universities are seen as ivory towers, we do not want to be seen as such. We want to be accessible to communities and be seen as a solutions provider in our environs. We don’t want to just disseminate knowledge, we also want to learn things from the people in our communities. It would be great to learn how they solve problems so that we can study that.

The opportunities are there, and there is no doubt about that. You should do a proper search for what you are doing. Most investors like complaining about poor infrastructure, political instability, and poor communication. We should know that the African continent is in a developing process, and therefore you can’t expect everything to be like Europe or anywhere else. In taking the challenges, I am very confident that the African countries are working on those challenges, which will take some time to come to an end. Those challenges are the opportunities for people who want to do business in Africa, so do not wait for the problems to be over before you start your business.

"We must rid ourselves of the colonial yokes of borders. Africans are one people and there should be unity. We don’t need these borders that were created to put in place mechanisms to control us. The regional groupings on the continent that have been formed such as the SADC and ECOWAS are precursors for a united Africa. A united Africa will boost interior engagement between countries."
